If you’re old and silly enough to remember the fish-slapping skit from “Monty Python’s Flying Circus,” you may appreciate the sight that greeted blood, dirt & angels globetrotters Jack and Marcia Schnedler this week in the French town of Concarneau.
It was indeed something completely different, as the Pythons liked to say. Costing 10 euros (about $12) for 15 minutes of treatment, it was a self-described Fish Spa. Having paid the fee, patrons took off shoes and socks to dangle their feet and ankles in water swarming with little fish.
These minnow-size sea critters provided supposed massaging of lower extremities weary from a day of sightseeing along the southern coast of Brittany. Several customers were getting the treatment, as pictured in the see-it-to-believe-it photos attached here. The Schnedlers saved their 10 euros for ice cream.
