    Not to be confused with John Cale of the Velvet Underground.. No, this dude wrote a couple of songs that were made popular by the former heroin addict, E. Clapton. This Cale would be missed except for the fact that he didn’t do much of anything other than that. Did I miss your column about Ray Manzarek when he died?

    Actually Cale recorded a number of fine albums (though none touched Naturally.) A few years ago he and Clapton contributed on The Road to Escondido. Just sayin’.
