Princeton University Press has just published a new edition of the popular collection of Einstein quotations that has sold tens of thousands of copies worldwide and been translated into twenty-five languages.

The Ultimate Quotable Einstein features four hundred additional quotes, bringing the total to roughly 1,600 in all. It includes new sections as well as a chronology of Einstein’s life and accomplishments, Freeman Dyson‘s authoritative foreword, and new commentary by Alice Calaprice.

There are also find quotes by others about Einstein (such as “Not yet hanged,” the caption under Einstein’s photograph in a book of “enemies of the state” produced by Hitler’s regime in 1933) along with quotes attributed (and misattributed) to him. Every quotation is documented, and Calaprice selected new photographs and cartoons to introduce each section.

    Didn’t he also say the energy was the same thing as mass times the speed of light squared? Or something.
